Such reports are crucial in assessing the quality of their newly purchased homes, especially considering the stipulations of the New Homes Quality Code, which obligates developers to inform customers about their snagging rights.

Alan Milstein, the chairman of the RPSA, has expressed disbelief at the low uptake of independent snagging inspections by new homeowners. "It's not credible that, when advised of their opportunity to get a properly qualified, independent residential specialist to inspect their new home on their behalf, so few consumers are taking advantage of that opportunity,” he stated. Milstein suggests that the concept of snagging is misunderstood, viewing it instead as an excellent chance for developers to affirm their confidence in their construction quality and to underscore their commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

We reinforce that with a clear requirement for practitioners to be qualified, insured, and a member of a recognised professional association.”
